A few months ago, I took a long weekend off to visit Jatinangor, a place I hadn’t set foot in for nearly 10 years. As a graduate of Fikom Unpad Jatinangor, I spent four years living there. My plan was simple: indulge in some nostalgic culinary experiences and catch up with former lecturers. Then I remembered something that had gone viral in Jatinangor—Jatinangor House (JH).
The search for Jatinangor House
Located in Sayang, near the Wisma Kartika 1996 area, JH wasn’t immediately easy to spot. There were no signboards indicating its presence. In the middle of the complex, I noticed a white building that turned out to be the famed Jatinangor House.
I arrived after Friday prayers, and coincidentally, the staff had just finished theirs too. After waiting a short while for the kitchen to reopen, I finally placed my order.
A modern ordering experience
Jatinangor House takes a modern approach to fast food, with self-order kiosks reminiscent of McDonald’s. You can browse the menu, place your order, and make payments at the machine.

Jatinangor House Menu
JH’s signature menu closely resembles McD’s “Paket Panas.” It features crispy fried chicken, rice, and scrambled eggs. What sets it apart is the crispy kailan (Chinese broccoli), which adds a unique and delicious crunch to the meal.
There are two types of fried chicken: regular and spicy. I opted for the non-spicy version to fully savor the seasoning. For drinks, I tried their signature Ice Pomegranate, a refreshing option perfect for Jatinangor’s sweltering heat.
Affordable prices
The pricing at JH is student-friendly, with meal packages, including drinks, costing under IDR 50,000. They’ve clearly tailored their pricing to suit the student budget. Interestingly, JH also offers an array of authentic coffee blends, leading me to wonder if it’s also a coffee shop disguised as a fast-food restaurant.

Conclusion
Jatinangor House is worth checking out. The portion size and prices make it a satisfying choice for customers. Plus, JH now has branches in major cities like Bandung, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Solo, Tangerang, and Surabaya.
Here’s hoping for its continued success as a proud Indonesian alternative to international fast-food chains.
